Why are hazmat alarm pull stations necessary?  A hazmat incident may involve a solid, liquid, or gas; may or may not be visible; and may or may not have a scent. 

A fire alarm alerts building occupants to quickly evacuate and can actually cause people to unwittingly move directly toward danger. A Police or Medical pull station can summon individuals not equipped to handle the emergency and cause critical, life-endangering delays. 

Using a Hazmat Emergency Response System allows building occupants and emergency personnel to quickly and knowledgeably respond based on their roles and level of training.
